To be or not to be… Sylvester Stallone: The magic of being

Today’s title is an invitation

I do not dislike his painting, which shows another characteristic of his personality.

Stallone shows his pieces in a 75-year-old retrospective on December 4 of this year at the Osthaus Hagen Museum in the German city of Hagen.

Sylvester Stallone: The magic of being, will run until February 20, 2022.

50 paintings, including self-portraits and first pieces, the collection reaches the German entity after passing through the State Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg (2013) and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nice, France (2015).

The proposal contains influences of surrealism, expressionism and abstraction.

What I love about painting is that it is the only true communication you can have. Writing can be manipulated, painting is the projection of the subconscious.

Contemporary art seduced him from a young age and led him to collect pieces by Pablo Picasso, Gerhard Richter or Anselm Kiefer.

The retrospective is accompanied by a bilingual rationale, with ínterviews and texts by different experts on Stallone’s work, who rediscovers in his paintings some of his iconic characters or mýthological fígures such as Hercules and Súperman.
